A Norwegian Christmas at Union Station

At the Capitol, obviously. I missed the picture, but we saw a three year old boy run under the ropes and almost under the tree. The guard (who also happened to be his father) threatened him with handcuffs and climbed over the ropes. The boy ran off laughing, easily slipping out of the ropes on the other side and took off across the field, dad slowly following behind. It was hilarious.

We stopped to celebrate Christmas in Canada, at its embassy. A lovely view.

And on to the White House. It is surrounded by 50+ smaller trees, each decorated by the states and territories...

A moment of celebration for Connecticut, and an excited lady.

The national yule log, very toasty.

The National Christmas Tree.
I was able to go to the lighting ceremony last week and heard President Bush speak, and some lovely musical performances. It's fun to enjoy the Christmas festivities of a new place.
