In the spirit of keeping this a whiting family blog, and not a kathryn blog, let's get posting again. I've been ultra busy the past few weeks just with lacrosse winding down, school ending (and the consequential goofing off), and exotic excursions to places like the korean bath house (i wish it were my home).
let's begin with graduation, as posted by kathryn below. it was boring, bright on the eyes, but it was a good chance to feel important once more. i guess there are only so many days where people are obligated to be friendly with you, and instead of fighting it, why not relish in it. For guys, we get one father's day a year (shout out to dad, best dad there is!), for women, the mother's day, for the veteran's, the veteran's day, and for all people aging, birthdays. do i feel special for graduating? Not really, i mean it's just doing something that's expected of me. For me, it was just what i was going to do. should it be celebrated? sure, throw a party, snap some pictures, but i want celebrations for doing things that aren't expected of me, like winning the state championship in football. that was a moment worth celebrating, because it's not something common.
don't get me wrong; i'm glad i'm done, and i'm greatful for the parents and siblings that have helped me get here. thankful to mike and kathryn coming out to support Jason and I. but graduation felt more of an induction ceremony. i guess something worth celebrating because i can now take advantage of the world before me in any capacity i want. for now, i'll choose on focusing how to take advatage of the world (college), and figure out what i want to do. i'm growing more and more valuable. as a kid, you're just that, and nobody expects you do to anything amazing, nor do they often give you the chance to. but once you graduate (more specifically graduate college), it's like, "let's see what this guy can do."
But i barely have a clue what i'm talking about, so i'll stick to the things i know.
Korean Bath Houses are awesome. If you ever go to an Asian country, they'll have these bathhouses all over the place. maybe i'm weird, but i like getting pampered with the buds, skinny hot tubbing, cold tubbing, sauna-ing, dry-sauna-ing, eating, more sauna-ing, and water massaging to our delight. sure, you see your bro's bro, but it's worth the comfort enjoyed. So for those of you who are even considering it, it's like the gospel, you just gotta go and see what it's all about. But some people are timid, and how can you blame them for what they simply do not know....

yay!! I don't want this to be MY blog either. I told Mike (or maybe you??) that I was just going to delete it if (other) people didn't start posting already.
I will go to the Korean bathhouse, but only if I can ALONE. I can't do group (esp family) nakedness quite yet. Maybe someday. Cara & Jeanne?
