im now 20? yesterday was a good day. thanks for your package everyone! thanks for all of the stuff it is greatly appreciated down here. Yesterday was a very uneventful day, but it's quite alright. we worked as usual. working is good to keep the mind busy and focused on what it should be focused on. and i'm happy when i'm working! Elder Burton and I have been talking a lot recently about our time here in Rufino. He has been sharing with me some of the experience that he's had. He used a metaphor that has been on my mind for this past week. "there was once a man who was told by his boss to push against this rock. it was a very very large rock and the man pushed and pushed with all his might, but he wasn´t even close to moving the rock. then this stranger came up to the man and told him, why are you pushing on that rock so hard, it's never going to move. that made sense to the man why am i pushing so hard? so the man let up. The boss then came back to the man and said why did you stop pushing? the man replied because there was no way that he was going to move the rock. the boss said did i ask you to move it or did i ask you to push against it? the man then felt very bad because he had let up, he now wasn´t as strong. what the boss really had in mind was to build up the strength so he eventually could push the smaller rock next to the bigger one"the metaphor has meant a lot to me. My boss, the Lord, has asked me to be here and to do all that i can. that's all that he asks. i keep that in the back of my mind when i feel like i want to ease up on how hard i'm working. I like the d and c scripture that says i the lord am bound when you do what i say, but when you do not what i say you have no promise. i´ve done a lot of growing this past few weeks, and i'm doing very well! i'm happy to be working! i'm happy and i have the faith that the Lord will bless me for my efforts, maybe not the the way that i expect him to bless me.So this past week we´ve been contacting and doing look ups and stopping by less active members. working, working up a storm. This past week at the familia Suarez i had some real chicken. Like from live chicken to cooked chicken. interesting to see how all that stuff is done. haha. might be rethinking my desires to be a doctor. Blood in vast amounts makes be a little squeamish. haha. it's funny how its just normal to them, go out back, chop off the head, gut it, barbque it up. that's the life, livin off the land. Dad did you ever have to kill animals while on the farm, like chickens? i´ve been more interested in your farming background now that ive been out here with all of these farmers.LIfe is good isn´t it. I'm so happy to be serving the Lord. I know that this church is true because the Holy Ghost has told me it is true. The Holy Ghost is truly an undeniable spirit. Whenever i have contention in my heart or doubt, the spirit leaves and i can feel that. I work everyday, being obedient, so that i never lack the spirit. If you have not the spirit ye shall not teach. Pretty strong statement, that keeps me motivated to have the spirit always. thanks to all of you. love you all.
